POPLAR BRANCH, NC – Marjorie Sumrell Mansfield died on February 10, 2018 at home. She was born September 9, 1930 in Poplar Branch, NC to the late Howard D. Sumrell and Bernice Grandy Sumrell. She was the widow of Raleigh P. Mansfield, Sr.   She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children; JoAnn Mansfield (Gary), of Shawboro, Jayne Fentress of Knotts Island, Joan Wood (Al) of Weeksville, Raleigh P. Mansfield Jr. (Robyn) of Chesapeake, VA; grand-children, William R. Fentress III (Lorin), Margie F. White (Brian), Joshua Wood, Cody Mansfield, and Alexa K. Mansfield; great grand-children Madisyn Fentress, William R. Fentress IV, Brayden White, Emmett White, and Ross White; a sister, June S. Pell; a nephew, Ray Revell; two nieces, Peggy P. Westmoreland (Bob) and Rita Scarberry (David).She was predeceased by her sister, Ruby Revell; her son in law William R. Fentress Jr.; and one nephew, Michael Pell.

The family would like to thank her caregivers; Janet Moore, Lois Trotman and Community Hospice.

A funeral service was to be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Providence Baptist Church in Shawboro with the Rev. Charles M. Stevens officiating. A private burial was to be held in the Thomas Roberts Cemetery.
