Charlie enjoyed a long career with Riggs National Bank in Washington DC and retired to the Outer Banks in 1980. He eventually started his own security company, Sea-Check Security, in Corolla, which he operated until his retirement at age 84.

Charlie loved to laugh and joke and have fun with everyone. He was well-loved by everyone who knew him, and those who were fortunate enough to enjoy his baking will miss his cookies and cakes.

The family will gather for a celebration of his life at a future date.
