KITTY HAWK, NC ­-Eunice June Steese, known as Kitt, died on February 27, 2018 at the age of 88.

She was born in Shinnston, West Virginia. Upon retire-ment, she and her husband, Gustav Eugene “Gene” Steese, moved to the outer banks of North Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Swanie Stalnaker and her husband of 57 years, Gustav Eugene Steese. Surviving are her three sisters, Eunice Steele, Vonda Bolen, and Carlisle Smallwood; her two children, Jean Anne Davidson and her husband Ron, and Gustav Eugene “Jim” Steese II, and his wife, Billie Jean; her grandchildren Michelle Rowles, Melissa Wise and her husband James, Angela Buell and her husband Matthew, and Logan Steese; her great-grandchildren Michael Link, Abigail Link, Hannah Wise, and JC Wise; and her great-great grandchild William Ryder.

Services will be held at Grace Lutheran By-the-Sea at 2:00 pm, March 11, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to made to either the Humane Society or the ASPCA in Kitt’s name.
