February crimes in KDH listed; welcome two new officers

Kill Devil Hills Police Department has issued its blotter for the month of February 2018.

Larceny: On Feb. 5, officers responded to a larceny of scrap metal in the area of 900 block of S. Croatan Highway.

First Degree Burglary: On Feb. 16, officers responded to a felonious breaking and entering of an occupied residence in the area of 1700 Sunset Avenue. A computer was taken from the residence.

Breaking and Entering and Larceny: On Feb. 20, officers responded to a business breaking and entering in the area of the 200 block of S. Virginia Dare Trail. Forced entry was made into Kill Devil Hills Cycle and a cash register was stolen.

Property Damage: On Feb. 17, a residence under construction in the 1700 block of Virginia Dare Trail was broken into and vandalized. Paint, chemicals and tools were used to cause several thousand dollars in damage.

Kill Devil Hills Police Department announces that two new patrol officers are now on board. Matthew Hvozdovic and David Rhoads are the town’s newest officers. Both are graduates of College of the Albemarle’s Basic Law Enforcement Training program.
