Beverly Ann Farster

KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC ¬- Beverly Ann Farster of Kill Devil Hills passed away from natural causes early Sunday morning, February 25, 2018. She was 84 years old.

Ms. Farster was born in Fredericksburg, Va., and grew up in Hampton. She was a graduate of Hampton High School, class of 1951. After high school, Ms. Farster attended Mary Washington College, but did not complete her degree, choosing instead to move to New York City where she met her husband, Stanley Losak, a news producer. The couple moved to Westport, Connecticut where they raised two children.

They later divorced, Ms. Farster moved to the Outer Banks in 1980 and pursued a career first in real estate and later enjoyed and excelled in a career selling, and wearing, beautiful clothes, most recently at Lady Victorian in Duck.

Ms. Bev, as she was known by so many on the beach, was a senior member of Alcoholics Anonymous spon-soring dozens over the decades. She recently celebrated her 31st year of sobriety.

A lover of the arts and music, Ms. Farster was regularly in attendance at local and regional ballet, opera and classical performances.

Ms. Farster is survived by her sister, Melissa Sharpley of Raleigh, two children, Matthew Losak of Silver Spring, MD and Garnett Losak, of Brooklyn, NY, two grandchildren, Joseph Falzetta (23) and Katie Falzetta-Murray (27), and 2 great grand children, Simon Joseph Murray (3) and Micah Douglas Murray born on March 1st.

A memorial will be held in the chapel at St. Andrew’s By-the-Sea 4212 South Virginia Dare Trail Nags Head, NC at 11:00AM on June 30, 2018.
