ROPER, NC ¬- Charles Benjamin Bennett, 71, of Roper died Monday, March 5, at his residence in Roper.

Born August 22, 1946 in Newport News, Virginia he was the son of the late C.B. Bennett and Margaret Wheelhouse Bennett and was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Elizabeth Bennett.

His family includes his wife, Emily Sue Hughes Bennett of Roper, N.C.; daughters, Susan Diane Bennett of Plymouth, N.C. and Kathryn Joy Bennett Cherry and husband Kevin of Greenville, N.C.; brother, Richard Bennett of California; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral service were held Thursday, March 8 at Zion’s Chapel Church of Christ, Roper with Mark Wilmoth officiating.  Burial was  in the church cemetery. Arrangements were by Maitland Funeral Home.
