CHSS Heading to State Science Olympiad

The Cape Hatteras Secondary School Science Olympiad teams, coached by AIG/math teacher Jessica Polk, competed in the Regional Science Olympiad Competition at East Carolina University on Saturday, Feb. 24.

Thirty-three students from grades six through twelfth grades participated. The competition consists of multiple events involving science, engineering, and technology. Students participated in events involving balsa wood towers, hover crafts, mousetrap vehicles, invasive species, chemistry, and more.

The high school team placed high enough to earn a bid to the state competition in Raleigh on April 21.
