SANFORD, NC ¬- Mr. James Michael Pitts 72,  of Sanford, died March 7, in Moyock, NC after battling Alzheimer’s disease. Jim- as he was best known was a long-time manager in the tobacco industry and a devoted husband. He also served his country honorably in the United States Navy and the US Air Force.

  Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years Carmen Pitts of the Sanford residence and a host of other family members. Cherished friends left behind include Denise and Mike Hall of Currituck. Jim’s wishes for cremation will be honored and plans for a private memorial service are pending.
