ELIZABETH CITY, NC – Helen, 74, passed away the morning of March 14. Helen was born March 30, 1943 to the late William and Vera Brickhouse. Helen and her surviving husband, Bobby Bess, resided in Elizabeth City.

Helen’s greatest joy was doing for others. Her passion for cooking and baking was constantly bestowed upon neighbors, friends and family. She loved quilting and canning. She will forever be missed as a loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend.

Helen is survived by her sons, Leven Fulcher of Elizabeth City, E.W. Fulcher and partner Wade Lewis of Raleigh; brothers Thomas Brickhouse and Jimmy Brickhouse of South Mills; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Jack Brickhouse.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Twiford Funeral Home, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC.
