Saturday, March 31 – Egg-stravaganza!

Bring your Easter baskets because Goose Creek State Park will be hosting two Easter egg hunts. One hunt will be for ages five and under and the other hunt will be for ages 6 to 10.  There are only 12 spaces available for each hunt, so registration is required. Along with the hunts, we will be playing games and enjoying a wonderful afternoon outside. Call the park office for more information and registration at 252-923-2191.

Saturday, April 7 – 2 p.m. – Mallard Creek Hike

Take an easy half-mile hike through a pine hardwood forest ending at a small overlook on Mallard Creek.  Wear sturdy footwear, bring water and binoculars. Meet in the last parking lot.

Saturday, April 14 –10 a.m. – Flatty Creek Spring Hike

Join a ranger for a one-mile hike through the forest and marsh to Flatty Creek. This will be a good time of year to hear the birds and view blooming marsh plants. The trail is easy walking and good for all ages. Dress for the weather.  Meet in the parking lot at the entrance to the campground.

Sunday, April 22 – 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. – Earth Day:  Acts of Green

Come out to Goose Creek State Park and learn how you can become part of the Earth Day: Billion Acts of Green effort.  Plant a tree, take a quiz and find out what you can do to help reduce plastic pollution.  Meet in the visitor center.

Sunday, April 29 – 10 a.m. – Ticks, Chiggers and Mosquitos

Learn about everyone’s least favorite critters, how to avoid them, get rid of them and what diseases they can potentially carry. Meet in the visitor center.
