The Nags Head Lions Club invites the community at large to shop and donate spare change and other monetary contributions to its annual Brighter Visions Drive which will be held outside the Fresh Market grocery store in the Outer Banks Mall Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nags Head Lions Club President Courtney N. Gallop explained that Lions from the Nags Head Lions Club will be greeting shoppers and answering questions about the international Lions Club.

Lions International advocates for the blind and visually impaired locally, statewide, nationally, and globally. Moneys donated to the Brighter Visions Campaign go toward a number of Lions’ initiatives including seeing-eye dog training, purchasing canes and equipment for the blind, supporting Camp Dogwood, which is a North Carolina resort for the blind and visually impaired, and supporting eye research, eye exams and eye glass recycling.

“If you’re shopping at Fresh Market that day please consider throwing a donation into the giant cane. The funds are greatly appreciated and used wisely with great impact.” Gallop added that anyone who would like to volunteer to work the event should contact her directly at (252) 216-8030 to arrange a shift.

The Nags Head Lions Club holds a noon lunch meeting every second and fourth Tuesday at JJ Brewbaker’s Restaurant in Nags Head and is always welcoming new members. Call Courtney N. Gallop at (252) 216-8030 for more information.
