The North Carolina Coastal Federation is teaming up with Jennette’s Pier for Green Teens Summer Camp during the week of July 9-13.

This camp is a good fit for teens interested in outdoor adventures and scientific explorations of the natural world. With the help of Jennette’s Pier educators, teens ages 13 to 18 years old will get to explore the Outer Banks through various outdoor activities such as paddleboarding through the sound and fishing on the pier.

Campers will also participate in scientific activities involving oyster reefs and living shorelines, marine debris and renewable energy.

“This is such a great opportunity for young adults to spend time to learning about different science careers through engaging outdoor experiences,” said Sara Hallas, coastal education coordinator for the federation. “The federation is glad to combine efforts with Jennette’s Pier and provide this unique opportunity that combines field experiences and job shadowing all while having fun.”

The camp will run daily, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $200 per camper. Campers will meet every day at Jennette’s Pier, located at 7223 South Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head.

Registration is required and is available on the Jennette’s Pier website here. For more information, contact Sara Hallas at 252-473-1607 or sarajh@nccoast.org.
