On Saturday, March 31, NCDOT issued a notice that the Oregon Inlet maritime navigation channel would close from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, and from noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday April 4.

The closure is necessary for PCL Civic Contractors, Inc., to work on replacing the Bonner Bridge.

When these closures occur, the U.S. Coast Guard sets up temporary safety zones. Entry by vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited.
