Pot luck dinner set for Avon, April 7

On Saturday, April 7, join the Hatteras Island Genealogical and Preservation Society for dinner and a presentation about how DNA works.
Bring a dish to share.
The guest speaker is Collins Gray Jr. He is a Hatteras Island native, who is now a biology professor with a concentration in human anatomy and physiology at Fayetteville Technical College, in Fayetteville.
The dinner starts at 5 p.m. at the Avon Volunteer Fire Department, Harbor Rd., Avon.
Drinks, plates and utensils will be provided for the dinner.
