Top basketball players from 10 eastern North Carolina schools come together this weekend for the Coastal Counties Basketball All Star Game in Columbia.

The event, an effort to shine a light on the area’s players, is May 5 in the Columbia High School gym, 902 Main St., Columbia. Tipoff is 3 p.m. for the girls game and 4:30 for the boys game.

Schools participating include Manteo, Columbia, Cape Hatteras, Ocracoke, Plymouth and Pamlico County.

Doors open at noon, with a 3-point contest at 1 p.m. and a dunk off at 2 p.m.

Raffle tickets will be sold for prizes throughout the day.

Admission is $5 for 13 years old and up, and free for children 12 and under.
