Maureen Schorzman

Southern Shores – Maureen Schorzman, 82, died in Kill Devil Hills May 8, 2018 of natural causes. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen Tipping and the loving wife of the late Delbert “Del” Schorzman who passed tragically several years ago.

Maureen was born and raised in Philadelphia. She applied her education to several key positions in the pharmaceutical and real estate industries. In later years, Maureen was active and well-liked in the Southern Shores community and earned Senior Olympic medals for her champion cross-stitch creations.

Maureen is survived by her brothers, Joseph Tipping (Beth), and Richard Tipping (Patsy); her sister, Sheila (Jack) Leitham, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Also surviving are many dear friends including her dear friend, Lynn Blackburn.

The family will honor Maureen’s wishes for cremation and burial next to her beloved Del in Southern Shores Cemetery.  Memorial service plans are pending.
