Kitty Hawk – Emma Jean Westcot , 96, passed away on May 17, 2018.  EJ, as she was also known, lived a full and creative life. She Taught at Old Dominion University and continued her education there as well, earning a Master’s Degree in English.  She won a scholarship to the University of South Carolina where she earned a Ph.D in Shakespearean Literature, and studied the Greeks at Harvard.  She also taught at the community college level and was an adjunct professor at St. Leo University.  Moreover, she was an abstract artist, whose works have been in the Chrysler museum.  To have known EJ was to have had a dear and true friend whom she loved deeply.  Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of many.

Emma Jean Westcot is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Michelle Westcot and her great-grandchildren, William, Forest, Rose, Luke, Melaina, Noah and Jacob Whitehead and her great-great granddaughter, Rebecca Taylor.
