John Corcoran

John Corcoran, 70, of Kill Devil Hills, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Peak Resources – Outer Banks. Born in Liverpool, England on Aug. 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Florence and Thomas Corcoran. 

In the 1960s, John played professional soccer for Everton, United Kingdon, receiving the 1966 – 1967 Scott Cup. While living in England, he also worked as a longshoreman.  

He came to the United States in the early 1970s and owned English John’s Carpet Cleaning.

John is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ellen Corcoran of the home; and sisters-in-law, Linda Ritchie of Lexington, South Carolina and Sharon Reyes of Rockledge, Florida. He loved and was very proud of his nieces and nephews: Captain Christopher Sorvillo (FHP), August Sorvillo III (Veteran USN), Grace Cutler, Juny Reyes, Stephanie Gwynn, James Scott, Kimberly Scott and Carole Scott. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandrea Malloy.   

By request of John, there will be no service.
