VIDEO: Authorities search for Buxton scooter thief

The Dare County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the thief who stole a Yamaha scooter from outside the Dollar General store in Buxton.

On May 29 at 10:43 a.m., a man wearing a white tank top and a hat walked into the store and immediately walked back out, authorities said.

He then walked over to the red scooter parked just to the left of the doors, hopped on and took off.

Anyone with information or who can identify the individual from the video is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 252-475-9280 and ask to speak to Investigator Hickman or Captain Duprey.

The male then walked over to a Red in color Yamaha Scooter that was parked just to the left of the doors and took off on it without permission of the owner.
