Marcos Eduardo Salinas

Marcos Eduardo Salinas, 47, of Kill Devil Hills, passed away on May 26, 2018 after a long illness. He was born in Aurora, Illinois on Feb. 16, 1971, he was the son of late Luisa and Antonio Salinas.

Preceded in death by his mother Luisa T. Salinas, his sister Isabel Dixon and his brother Roel Salinas, he is survived by his wife Tatiana Vorobyeva and his daughter Melanie Salinas; his father Antonio M. Salinas, his brother Juan A. Salinas, sisters Belinda Salinas and Rose M. Highsmith, brother Luis C. Salinas, sisters Destiny Welch, Raquel Pagan and Jennifer Slayter and their spouses, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marcos had a passion for cooking and loved having friends and family over for a cook-out. He specialized in Cajun cuisine. He enjoyed spending time on the beach and fishing of the piers on Outer Banks. He will be remembered as a caring father, loving husband and son and a dear friend to many, who called him “Markie.”

A celebration of Marcos’ life will be held at Sound Park, Point Harbour on June 23, 2018 at 12 noon.
