Sunday is Positivity Day in Dare County

- Members of Girl Scout Troop 2139 appear before the Dare Board of Commissioners asking for support for Positivity Day.
Girl Scout Troop 2139 brought forth the idea of promoting positivity, with scouts attending local government meetings to get leaders are board.
At Dare County Family Recreation Park, Kill Devil Hills, the troop has displayed positive messages to get the trend going.
On May 21, Dare County’s Commissioner proclaimed Sunday, June 3 as Positivity Day.
The troop will host a Positivity celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park where they will unveil a Positivity Mural.
The county proclamation states “the mind is a powerful thing; thinking positively assists in reducing stress and eliminating negative self-talk; the elements of positivity, including optimism, confidence, and encouragement, are lessons we should communicate to each other every day; positive thinking is vital for success and leads to happiness; Dare County Board of Commissioners ‘encourages citizens to practice positive thinking, today and every day.’”
