Betty Jean Oakley Roberson

Betty Jean Oakley Roberson, 70, of 2614 NC Highway 32-South, Plymouth, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Plymouth after a lengthy illness.

Born in Martin County on July 2, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Cleo Noah and Hazel Barnes Oakley. She was married to Walter Ray Roberson who survives and was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Steve Creech, Rev. James Owens and Rev. Edgar Masoncup will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Mitchell R. Roberson and wife, Lori of Pantego; two daughters, Jennifer R. Scott and husband, Brian and Bonnie R. Bowen and husband, Michael all of Plymouth; grandchildren, Hunter Scott and wife, Kristen, Taylor Scott, Jake Roberson, Evan Roberson, Keith Bowen and Montgomery Bowen; great-grandchildren, Annabelle Jones and one yet to be born.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Cleo Oakley.

The family will receive friends at the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene on Friday evening, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of Jennifer and Brian Scott, 203 Old Roper Road, Plymouth.
