Philip Lyle Harris, 75, of Roper died Friday, June 8, 2018, at his residence in Roper.

Born Jan. 11, 1943 in San Francisco, California he was the son of the late Robert G. Harris, Sr. and Lorraine Benard Harris. Philip was a retired baker, U.S. Navy veteran with service in Vietnam, member of Mid-County Ruritan Club and Open Door Church in Edenton.

His family includes his wife, Rose Edwards Harris of Roper; daughters, Mignon of Colorado, Halee of Virginia; sons, Phil Jr. of Texas, Randy of Iowa; sister, Judy Mate of Virginia; brother, Robert G. Harris of Georgia; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren,

Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Creswell with Pastor Steve Mizell officiating.
