Rebecca Norman Melvin, 63, of Plymouth died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at her residence in Plymouth.

Born Aug. 26, 1954 in Tyrrell County she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Norman and Thelma Propes Norman. Rebecca was a homemaker and member of the Plymouth Church of the Nazarene.

Her family includes her husband, Alvin Lee Melvin of Plymouth; daughters, Jennifer Andrews of Elizabeth City, and Amy Lynn Melvin of Williamston; son, Charles Batten of Los Angeles; sister, Mary Lou Parker of Edenton; brother, Lee Norman of Florida; grandchildren, Rebecca Andrews, Carol Andrews, Lauren Andrews, Lincoln Cook and Jackson Cook.

Memorial service were held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth with Pastor Steve Creech officiating.
