Bertie Dixon III, 74, of Frisco, died Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born in Buxton, on March 15, 1944, he was the only son of Bertie Dixon, Jr. and Elise Peele Dixon.

He is survived by his two sons, Bertie Dixon IV and wife, Jessica of Chesapeake, Virginia and Andrew Lee Dixon and wife, Heather of Lynchburg, Virginia; and seven grandchildren, Austin Hanson Reno and wife, Rebekah, Caroline Rae Dixon, Hunter Austin Dixon, Isaac Ali Dixon, Jackson Douglas Dixon, Elijah Chase Dixon, and Alexander Lee Dixon.

Bert graduated from Frederick Military Academy in 1963. He then enlisted and served four years with the United States Coast Guard. After leaving the Coast Guard, he worked at the Newport News shipyard and for Hughes Aircraft Company before becoming a civil servant working as a satellite and electronic systems specialist for the Navy until he retired in 1998. After retirement, he moved back to Frisco.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 29, at Little Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Toni Wood and Rev. Dwight Burrus officiating.
