Elsie Brickhouse Sawyer, 90, of Columbia and most recently a resident of Peak Resources in Nags Head, died Saturday, July 7, 2018.

She was the daughter of the late Troy Felton Brickhouse, Sr. and Filena Bateman Brickhouse.  She was married to Marvin Bradford Sawyer, who preceded her in death.

Elsie was a member of Soundside Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker who loved flower gardening, cooking, and taking care of her home and family.

Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Soundside Free Will Baptist Church, the Rev. Royce Reynolds officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara S. Everett and Cindy S. Fleming; son-in-law, Terry Everett; and daughter in-law, Carla Sawyer, all of Columbia; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie M. Sawyer; six brothers and a sister.
