Billie A. Sondberg died at home on July 9, 2018.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Sondberg; children Mike and Liz Nally, Kathleen A. Cooke, Mike and Jan Sondberg, Scott and Sue Sondberg and Terry and Monica Sondberg. She was preceded in death by Pat Nally and parents Stan and Virginia Fields. She was sister to Betty Smith, Bonne Ciaopoulos, Robert Fields and Ben Fields (deceased.) She had 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Billie was born in Washington, D.C. on March 3, 1944. She graduated from Northwestern High School and worked for the federal government for two years. She then moved to the National Asphalt Paving Association, retiring in 1986 as executive director.

Billie and Chris moved to Nags Head, where they lived for 25 years. She was a member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church.

Memorial services will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dare County Hospice.
