Pete James (Jimmy) Asimos

Pete James (Jimmy) Asimos, 74, of Kill Devil Hills, died July 15, 2018. Jimmy, the son of the late James Pete and V. Carolyn Asimos, was born and reared in Suffolk, Virginia.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ginny Brown Asimos; six children: Barry James and Heather Macfarlane Asimos, Ginger Brown and Ellis Prince, and Timothy Grady and Heather Rose Asimos; seven grandchildren: Abby Reese, Ashten Rose, and Tristen Macfarlane Asimos; Lauren Alisabeth and Caleb Jathan Prince; and Mason James and Grady Joshua Asimos; two siblings: Mary Carolyn (Ed) Coggsdale and William Edward (Lois) Asimos; sister-in-law: Jeannie Nance; brothers-in-law: Grady McNeal (Lorene) Brown and Ted Michael Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his half-brother Gary Daniel Nance.

Jimmy was a retired structural engineer with VDOT for 39 years. He was also a retired Worship Pastor of Southside Baptist Church, Suffolk, Virginia, for 33 years.

The family will receive friends at Southside Baptist Church, Suffolk, at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 22. The celebration of his life will immediately follow at 4 p.m.
