Localized flooding, high threat of rip currents again today
The National Weather Service has issued a high rip current warning again today, saying rips, shorebeaks and rough surf will make the ocean dangerous for any swimmers.
In addition, heavy rain this morning is causing localized flooding, particularly on NC 12 in the Town of Duck.
More rain is expected today, especially after 2 p.m., with up to an inch of rainfall possible, the National Weather Service reports.
Kitty Hawk Ocean Rescue is flying red flags today, meaning no swimming. Other towns have not yet announced decisions on ocean swimming.
