Adele Wilson Lake passed away peacefully, Monday, July 27, 2018 in Live Oak, Florida at the age of 94.  She was born on July 12, 1924 in Hampton, Virginia to James Christopher and Jettye Adele (Oakley) Wilson.  She attended Newport News High School and on Jan.15, 1944 she married Bobbie Michael Lake, the love of her life for 62 years.   

She was preceded in death by her parents James Christopher and Jettye Oakley Wilson, her sister Betty Paige Sharman, son-in-law Capt. Mark E. Hicks and beloved husband, Bobbie Michael Lake, Sr. 

She is survived by her son Bobbie Michael Lake, Jr. (Pam of Live Oak, Florida), daughter Sandra Lake Hicks of Pearland, Texas, and son James Garfield Lake, (Patricia of Manteo), six grandchildren Jennifer Lake, Hannah Lake, Kimberly Hicks, David Hicks, Martha Lake Daniels, James G. Lake, Jr. and eight great-grandchildren Braydon, Lauren, Olivia Hicks; Mackenzie, Garrett Daniels; Hayden, Brendan, Easton Lake. 

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Advent Christian Village, Live Oak, Florida for the compassionate care they gave to Adele in her final years.   

The family will hold a celebration of life of Adele at a later date on the Outer Banks. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The First Flight Lions Club, Kill Devil Hills or Advent Christian Village, Live Oak, Florida.
