Ellen (Eileen) Orban, 95, formerly of Buxton, NC and Akron, OH, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Sentara Nursing Center – Currituck.

Born in Waterford, Ireland on September 16, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Mary Anthony and William Hearne.

A World War II bride, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, John Orban, as well as a granddaughter, Colleen Duke; and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Orban.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lofland (Jerry) of Manteo, NC; a son, Kenneth Orban of Gettysburg, PA; grandchildren, Michael Duke, Meghan Ketchum (Kris), and Kelly McCroskey (Dan); six great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Hearne.

In keeping with Ellen’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. A Mass will be said in her memory at a later date.
