Lucy “Page” Nichols of Kill Devil Hills died peacefully in her home on Aug. 30 at the age of 67 after a short battle with cancer. Page was born on Dec. 4, 1950 in Petersburg, Virginia to Dransfield and Fredricka (Hubbard) Nichols, the eldest of five children. As a young adult, she moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
After a time, Page had her son, West, and he was her greatest pride.
Gifted in many ways, her family knew Page as the talented one capable of anything from mosaic-making to jewelry-crafting to furniture restoration. She will be greatly missed by her family and remembered fondly by everyone who knew her.
Page is survived by her son and greatest joy, West Nichols, her four siblings; Hunter (Carol) Nichols, James Nichols, Rebekah Nichols, and Amie (Pat) Wilcox as well as enough cousins, nieces, and nephews to make any Southerner proud. She now joins her parents, Dransfield and Fredricka (Hubbard) Nichols.
The family’s plans are pending for a graveside funeral service to be held in Virginia in the near future. Final funeral arrangements will be available at www.gallopfuneralservices.com. Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
