Marthyn Marie Quinn, 91, died Aug. 27, 2018.  A native of Florence, Alabama, she was predeceased by her husband, Mack “Bud” Quinn; son Michael M. Quinn and parents, David Gibson and Emma Kaiser Gibson. Marthyn had worked as a switchboard operator in Norfolk.  She was an active member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church and its Women’s Missionary Union, a Sunday School teacher, and the Niners Senior Citizens Club of Chesapeake.

She is survived by two sons, Steven C. Quinn and Keith W. Quinn and wife Cheryl; five grandchildren, Shaun, Kevin, Matthew and Dana Quinn, and Stephanie Quinn Bartlet; a nephew she raised, Charles Lee Gibson and his children; Andy and Thomas Gibson; nephew, Bobby Watkins and wife Diane and his children; Daniel and Michelle Watkins; and nieces, Dawn Rene Shea, Rala Heinen, Sandra Heinen and Catherine Parsons.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel.  Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6-7:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
