Richard Allen Hall

Richard Allen Hall, or “Rick, The Sign Man” as many knew him, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home October 5.  Rick was 61. He was born in Olney, Md. and raised in the Silver Spring, Md. area.

For many years, Rick owned and operated The Sign Man, designing and installing commercial and residential signs throughout the Outer Banks. Rick loved surfing, playing guitar, fixing stuff and enjoying his family.

Surviving are wife Jane E. Hall of Kill Devil Hills, sons Jake M. Hall of Vail, Colo. and Trevor B. Hall of Cary, daughters Marlene R. Hall of Cary and Michelle S. Hall of Kill Devil Hills, brothers David Hall of Tarpon Springs, Fla. and Philip Hall of Largo, Fla. and numerous extended family members, in-laws, friends and customers.

Plans for a memorial service are pending at this time.  In lieu of flowers or food Rick’s family gratefully requests that memorial donations in Rick’s memory be made directly to Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. to offset his cremation expenses.

Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.  Gallop Funeral Services, Inc. was entrusted with arrangements.
