Nicholas (Nick) Gregory MacDonald, 33, of Kill Devil Hills died Sunday, December 9, 2018, at his home.

Born in Virginia Beach, Va. on August 21, 1985, he was the son of Mary Lyn MacDonald of Nags Head and Kenneth V. MacDonald Jr. of Kill Devil Hills.

Survivors include daughter Aribella Brook Ivanic, sister Amy Lyn MacDonald and her fiancé, Jason Ivers and their daughter Mya; paternal grandparents Kenneth and Barbara MacDonald; aunts Dawn Messner, Lisa Harris (Greg) and Janice Black (Bryan), uncle William MacDonald (Barbara) and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Emmet and Juanita Markey and uncle Gregory Scott MacDonald.

After graduating from Manteo High School, where he played football, Nicholas furthered his education at UNC-Wilmington, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in 2007. He was an avid softball player and coach and enjoyed fishing, golf, rooting for the Redskins and riding motorcycles with his dad.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15 at Twiford Colony Chape in Manteo. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Twiford Funeral Home in Manteo.
