Carolyn Blake Cutrell, 91, of Fairfield, died Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Cross Creek Health Care Center, Swan Quarter.

Born in Hyde County, September 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ruffin and Jennie Mae Cutrell Blake. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Earl Cutrell.

She was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church and the Women’s Book Club. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, birdwatching and was a gifted mason and woodworker.

Funeral services and committal will be held at the Fairfield Christian Church at 1 p.m., Wednesday, December 19. Billy Ray Askew will officiate. Private burial will follow at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery.

Survivors include son Stevie Cutrell and wife Vicky; daughter Mary Tonda Cutrell, both of Fairfield; grandchildren Stephanie C. Marshall and husband Chad, Brandon Cutrell and wife Crystal and Blake Cutrell and wife Natalie; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Nell Cox of Engelhard, Kathy Spencer and Marion Hope Dough, both of Manteo.

She was preceded in death by brother Vernon Barrington and sister Selma Watson.
