Frieda Gray French, 82, of 100 Old Oak Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Waterbrooke Nursing Home. She was born October 5, 1936 in Avon, NC to the late Homer Styron Gray and Annie Gertrude Williams Gray and was the widow of Kenneth L. French, Jr.  She was a homemaker and attended Pearl Street Pentecostal Church and New Day Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol French Evans (Richard) of Lamar, Colo., Sharon French Stanley (James) of Elizabeth City, NC, and Darlene French Beasley (William) of Goose Creek, SC; a son, Kenneth L. French, III (Susan) of Wilton, Maine; a sister, Lilly G. Jones of Elizabeth City, NC; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.  She was pre-deceased by a sister, Wilma G. O’Neal; and three brothers, Wilbur D. Gray, Brent Gray, and Homer L. Gray.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Pearl Street Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Rick Lowery and the Rev. Dale Forbes officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and immediately following the service in the church lobby.
