Kregg Kent Kiefer, 62, of Buxton, died at home on Saturday, December 22, 2018.

He was raised in Massillon, Ohio but loved the beach and made Hatteras Island his home for the last 40 years. A family man who always filled a room with smiles and laughter, Kregg had a heart full of love for everyone, especially his grandchildren.

Kregg was preceded in death by parents Jimmy and Donna Kiefer; brother Kenny Kiefer; grandparents Mary and Leo Kiefer and Olie and Colin Fowler and special niece Sarah Macdonald.

He is survived by wife Carolyn Kiefer; children Krista Garner (Doug), Aaron Kiefer, Karla Lazona (Omar) and Jeffrey Kiefer (Melissa); sisters Karen Wonsick (RJ) and Kathy Slinger (Tim); grandchildren Nathaniel, Sara, Chandler, Allen, Isabella, Audrey, Claire, Braydon, Austin and Tyler and other family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 28 at Lighthouse Assembly of God. Private burial will take place at Quidley Cemetery.
