Many of us have heard the African Proverb “it takes a village to raise a child” and for sixteen years, Pirate’s Cove Realty and the Homeowners’ Association’s Santa’s Lil’ Pirates Program has been an active participant in helping local foster children.

This past year, they donated $2,500 to the Foster Children’s Fund which is used for Christmas gifts, birthday gifts and other special items throughout the year for children that are in foster care.

Their generosity did not stop there. Some 21 children in the custody of the Dare County Department of Health & Human Services also received donated Christmas gifts from Pirate’s Cove.

“We are so appreciative for all that the Santa’s Lil’ Pirates Program does for these children,” commented Brittany Canter, foster home licensing social worker with Dare County Department of Health & Human Services. “They make Christmas for these children especially bright.”
