Kaitlyn Suter, daughter of Timothy and Kim Suter of Columbia, has been awarded the Tyrrell County 4-H Foundation Scholarship for 2019. She was recognized at the 4-H Achievement Night held in March.

“Kaitlyn has been an active member of Tyrrell County 4-H since she was five years old, making her an ideal candidate for this scholarship worth $1,000,” said Lauren Nelson, 4-H Extension agent.

She has participated in the annual livestock show, was a member of the Sew Simple and Columbia Senior 4-H clubs, and attended numerous camps and programs over the years.

More recently, she has attended the NED Teen Retreat for several years and NC 4-H Congress for the last two years.

“Kaitlyn is always quick to volunteer for junior leader positions in clubs and camps, and we are sure she will use this scholarship to succeed in her future career as she has in our program and our community,” Nelson added.
