On Thursday, April 18, the Friends of the Outer Banks History Center will sponsor a program by Amy Pollard Gaw, author of the upcoming book “Lost Restaurants of the Outer Banks With Their Recipes.”

Gaw will present “Researching the Lost Restaurants of the Outer Banks,” sharing how she tracked down stories, recollections, images and recipes from some beloved and bygone restaurants such as Papagayo’s/Quagmire’s, Windmill Point, Seafare, A Restaurant by George and the Carolinian. Outer Banks History Center archivists will also share some photos of historical restaurants from their collection and suggestions for further research.

This event is free and open to the public. The talk will follow the annual meeting of the Friends of the Outer Banks History Center, which will begin at 6 p.m. in the OBHC reading room, located within Festival Park across from the Manteo waterfront.
