Several Memorial Day ceremonies planned Monday

Several Memorial Day ceremonies are being held in the area on Monday, May 27. The public is invited to attend to honor and remember family members, friends, and fellow citizens who have given the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States of America.

9 a.m. Southern Shores Cemetery, Dogwood Trail, beyond Kitty Hawk Elementary School and Duck Woods Country Club.

10 a.m. Hatteras United Methodist Church, 57665 NC 12, Hatteras village

10 a.m. Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk Rd., Kitty Hawk.

11 a.m. U.S. Air Force Veteran Todd Krafft, keynote speaker. Nags Head Town Municipal Complex, 5401 S. Croatan Highway (Mile Post 14), Nags Head.

11 a.m. – Manteo Cemetery (Cemetery Rd., Manteo)

11:30 a.m. Dare County Veterans Memorial, next to Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Ave., Manteo

12:30 p.m. Veterans Monument, Veterans Drive, Kill Devil Hills. Invited to attend are fire departments, EMS, Sheriff deputies, Kill Devil Hills Police.

Concert on the Green. Duck. 6 to 7 p.m. Summer Kick-Off Concert with Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band from Marine Corps Air Base, Cherry Point. Free. Bring chairs, picnics and family from a familiar playlist.
