Michael and Sara Cubberley of Roanoke, Va. found this fossilized great white shark’s tooth on the beach in Kitty Hawk June 15.

The couple was thrilled with the find, which was verified by several N.C. Aquariums staff members.

Live sharks can be seen up close and personal at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island.
