Norfolk artist Sam Welty is putting the finishing touches on his most recent mural today, June 20. The work is a tribute to the Wright Brothers and achieving the “impossible.”

“This is the 18th in my Great America Mural Series. I love painting murals that tell the story of an area. Often people are unaware of the history in their town. I enjoy sharing that stor.,” said Welty

Welty’s murals can be seen at locations including the entrance to DePaul Hospital in Norfolk, the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk and the Virginia Air and Space Center in Hampton. The Great America Mural series can be seen throughout the country.
