Kiddo, a veteran K-9 police dog, is being remembered by the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office as a good dog and a good cop.

Kiddo was retired in February 2018 due hip dysplasia. The K-9 was used over his career as a patrol dog with specialized training in explosives detection. “Kiddo meant a lot to us,” a Currituck Sheriff’s spokesperson said.

The eleven year old Belgian Malinois died of natural causes  after having spent his retirement with his partner and handler, Deputy Jeremy Evans.
