Thomas Nickens “Tommy” Alexander Sr.

Thomas Nickens “Tommy” Alexander Sr., 79, of Plymouth, died June 21, 2019, at MacGregor Downs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.
Born October 14, 1939 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Albert Ward Alexander and Dartha Ausbon Alexander and was preceded in death by brother,Albert Alexander Jr. and sister Melba Gardner. Tommy retired from Weyerhaeuser Corporation as a paper cutter with 30 years’ service. He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship where he served for many years as secretary and treasurer. Tommy served as a personnel specialist in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1969 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
Survivors include wife of 56 years Carolyn Rogers Alexander of Plymouth; daughters Karen Hopper and husband Steve of Lorton, Va.; Kathy Smith and husband Danny of Stokes and son Nick Alexander and wife Emily of Athens, Ala.; grandchildren Lindsay Sims and husband Greg, Winnie Smith, Gabriella Ulloa, Morgan Alexander, Davy Smith, Alex Hopper and Molly Alexander; a granddaughter and other family members.
Funeral service was held June 25 at 2 p.m. at Victory Christian Fellowship with Wayne West officiating.
Arrangements are by Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth.
