Demolition of downtown Manteo properties to start next week

The demolition of four Dare County-owned buildings and an adjoining parking lot located in downtown Manteo will begin the week of Monday, August 5.

The buildings are located on Ananias Dare Street and Budleigh Street. The demolition process is expected to take 40 to 60 days and will occur Monday through Friday during regular business hours. The perimeter of the site will be fenced.

Disruption to traffic is expected to be minimal and road closures are not scheduled at this time. East Coast Demolition from Moyock will be conducting the demolition.
