Laying wreaths to honor veterans

The Outer Banks Woman’s Club, Town of Southern Shores and area veterans including members of the American Legion Fort Raleigh Post 26 in Manteo assembled at the Southern Shores Cemetery to lay wreaths on local veterans’ graves.

After laying wreaths, George Farrow, Southern Shores Police Department who is a veteran that served almost 10 years in the U.S Air Force, presided over a brief ceremony to honor veterans for their service.

Cherri Wheeler, chaplain and also a veteran that served as the U.S. Air Force Command Chaplain for Europe and Africa, is shown laying a wreath on a grave of a local Dare County resident.
