Nags Head Golf Links Ladies celebrate banner year

The Nags Head Golf Links Ladies, a group of golfing and non-golfing women who enjoy working for a better quality of life in Dare County, met recently at the Player’s Grille to for their annual Christmas luncheon.

Club president Charlotte Ross announced that the club would celebrate their year of fellowship, golf and fundraising by again donating all their charitable giving funds to a charity that is close to the hearts of many members.  A check for $2000 will be dispersed to Food for Thought so that as many families as possible would have access to affordable and nutritious food.

Dr. Kathleen Brehony, co-chair of the Driving Fore the Cure annual ladies golf tournament, announced that the 2019 event raised a record $45,000 and was split between The Links Ladies Breast Cancer Fund through the Outer Banks Hospital and The Outer Banks Relief Foundation.

Speakers Jennifer Cox and Robin Hearne from the Outer Banks Hospital spoke to the club about all the innovations taking shape concerning breast cancer treatment and diagnoses and how the Links Ladies are having a direct impact.
