On Saturday, March 7, celebrate Read Across America and the birthday of Dr. Seuss at the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Community Building in Rodanthe.

The fun event is scheduled from Noon to 2 p.m.

Featured are Dr. Seuss inspired crafts, games and snacks. As always, lots of free books will be available for children who join in the fun.

With the help from numerous community volunteers, the Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Civic Association has sponsored the Dr. Seuss birthday celebration since 2006.

During the 2020 celebration, the association will dedicate its first Little Library to the former civic association board member and treasurer George Mead.
